For Lin. Happy birthday.
Your first five steps
This is the sock shop you've wanted since 2024. Here is everything between today and your first order, in the order it happens. You draw. A sock mill does the knitting, and the shop does the selling.
- 1
Draw three designs.
Pencil and paint are fine; we scan them. Start with whatever you love most out the window.
- 2
Ask the mills.
Ask two Canadian sock mills what their minimum order is for your own knit design. Print-on-demand is the backup if the minimums are too high.
- 3
Pick the two you love most.
Launch with those. The rest can join the shop whenever you're ready.
- 4
Connect the shop.
Eric connects the shop so orders come straight to you (or to the mill) and you never chase a payment.
- 5
Fill the gift boxes.
Put a pair in every Alberta Bounty box. Your two ideas, helping each other out.
Little notes for you
- The "why I drew this" lines on each sock are placeholders. Write them in your own words and Eric will swap them in.
- The name is a working name. Rename it any time; it changes in one place.
- The photos are stand-ins until your real samples arrive. The shop says the designs are knit in, small batches; we keep that true with whichever mill you pick.
- Prices ($28 a pair, any 3 for $75) are a starting point. We'll check them against the sample cost.
